WHAT IS IALAKHA?
„IALAKHA“ means something like: „Everything you are, everything you feel, that is you – and you are allowed to be happy about that!“
On their ski traverse, the two amateur athletes Levi and Heli want to rediscover what defines them as individuals. The goal is to find a connection through the mountains between the last two inhabited villages in the Racha and Svaneti regions (Georgia). Equipped for ten days, they embark on their journey – while local hero „Zura“ wishes them well: „Man… you’re crazy. That’s impossible!“
WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
Our goal is to traverse fom Ghebi (region racha) to Ushuguli (region Svaneti).
Along the way we are walking past some massive mountains which mark the border to russia. For our warmup lines, we will start with the „Lukhunistsveri“ (Camp 2). If the conditions are good, we then want to ski at least tree of the peaks which are surrounding the Zhesko Valley (Camp).
At camp 5 we then want to ski one of the biggest lines we found on the Map. The Sout-West-Face of „Tsana“. The face counts more than 1000 elevation meters which are possible to ski in one big run. For sure that one would be the cherry on the cake!
Heli, der wortkarge Alpinist. Seiner Strukturiertheit haben wir es zu verdanken, dass wir tatsächlich am geplanten Tag aufbrechen. Keine Selbstverständlichkeit in Georgien.
Zura ist unser Guide aus Svaneti. Er kennt die Region besser als wir alle und wird Entscheidungen treffen, die wir nicht demokratisch als Gruppe treffen können.
Eva, die stille Beobachterin. Ihre Eindrücke hält sie mit der Kamera fest. Mit dieser hat sie schon gefühlt die ganze Welt bereist.

Sammy möchte einen Dokumentarfilm über dieses Projekt drehen. In der Hoffnung, dass er weiß, worauf er sich da eingelassen hat.
Levi ist meistens gut gelaunt und voller Tatendrang. Seine Freude für die Berge kann er bestens zum Ausdruck bringen. Mit seiner unbekümmerten Art hält er die Moral der Gruppe hoch. Auch wenn die gerade am Boden ist.
Yessica es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, dass wir diese Traverse GEMEINSAM durchstehen. Obwohl sie bisher niemanden aus dem Team kennt und sich genau wie ich auf eine völlich neue Gruppenkonstellation eingelassen hat.
